photograps, interviews, podcasts, AIR stay at the Centre for Creative Activities in Ustka, Poland, 2017

“The Little Sea” is an endless project, based on interviews and a series of talks with habitants of a small Baltic resort - Ustka. During my stay in the city, I was consequently audio recording all my encounters in order to create a mixtape of legends told by various storytellers.

The Little Sea is a short, open-ended story about people. All those who are living there or just passing by. All those who wanted to share their memories with a stranger. Together we were able to create an Ustka playlist. A recording of sounds and tales told by local storytellers. We talked about everything. From weather, politics, family and pets to intimate love stories. I captured memories about indigo storms, sailing expeditions, Ustka Moomintroll-ism, or a famous news story from the past about the cold Baltic beach being covered in bananas... all invisible at the first glance. All accessible through the mx tape of voices shared with the community.
