Journey of Objects — awalaszek

This pop-up installation was a history of two artists' journeys in 33 objects collected from travel, with a story and a place attached to each . By placing these fragments of identity on display, between the past and future, we mediated a new idea of exchange. Reflecting on the ephemerality of the meanings placed on objects, viewers were invited to take a piece from the archive, either freely or as part of an exchange. By “bartering” “taking” or “sharing”, we are consciously connecting with the potential within and the history of the objects. In losing these objects, we loosen our ties to those stories while passing on the legacy of the collection.
